This little furry friend is Kittie (AKA Big Mao). I adopted Kittie when he was about 3 weeks old, just a little kitten and has been with me since 7 years ago. He’s very loving and affectionate and has been a great source of happiness for my family and I the past few years.
Unfortunately, I brought him home when I was very young as well, and did not even bother to consider the long term financial strains it would cost. Admittedly, it was a very selfish and unthought out decision to bring him home. Although, I’m extremely glad that I had been able to take care of him for so many years.
Now that I’m older and more knowledgeable, I realized that I haven’t been able to give him the best care and attention due to my hectic work schedule, and it saddens me to neglect him in the way that I’ve been neglecting him.
After careful thought and consideration, I have decided to let Kittie have a better life with a loving family who has the time and resources to give him the best life that he deserves to have, after being with me all these years and bringing me so much joy.
Kittie holds a lot of value to me, always keeping me company when I needed someone. He has brought me so much comfort in just being present. He loves jumping up to my bed and purring for attention if he feels neglected. And at the same time, he senses when someone needs attention as well, and never fails to comfort me by rubbing his face on my arm when he knows I need comforting. And that’s something that most cats won’t do. And I won’t ever forget how much joy he has brought me.
Now that Kittie is old, he pretty much minds his own business, but his presence is so known and so felt that it’ll be like something’s missing when he’s gone, however, I can no longer afford to keep him and I hope that he can make a huge impact with the next family he stays with, just like he did with mine.
I really hope that a kind and loving family will be able to bring this loving furry baby home and take care of him better than I ever could have. And I hope that he will be happier in an environment where he’s really loved and cared for for the rest of his years.
More info: Kittie is a local ginger cat whom I adopted from my friend when her cats had kittens. He’s been sterilized and been brought for a check up at the vet and they ensure that he’s in good health. He gets a little protective of himself sometimes and may be triggered when you touch him the wrong way (like when you try to give him a bath or cut his nails - he knows) but he loves pets and head rubs. So for grooming purposes, please bring him to professional who knows how to handle cats that hate grooming. Kittie is quite fussy and likes to drink running water, especially from a tap. So getting a water fountain would be good for kitty. Kittie uses clumping sand litter and needs time to adjust if his litter ox is shifted to a new area. He prefers fresh cat litter, and will make it known to you when his litter box needs cleaning. He’s not too particular about food, but maybe that’s because we haven’t explored many different brands, but he loves wet food more than anything. Kittie isn’t really fond of other animals and may get aggressive around other animals and definitely prefers humans over animals as he gets pretty jealous. As mentioned, he’s pretty protective and loves attention and would love a home where all the attention is on him (he’s kind of like a baby in that sense)
