Seeking Participants for a Study on Minimum Income Standards in Singapore!
- Date Listed26/09/2020
What are basic needs? What does it mean to say everyone should have a basic standard of living?
In 2017-18, a team of researchers conducted a study to find out what ordinary elderly Singaporeans think basic needs should encompass. That study involved focus group discussions with over 100 members of the public, and demonstrated that when given opportunities to freely express their views and respectfully agree and disagree, people can come to a consensus on setting a baseline below which no one in Singapore society should fall.
Now, a new study aims to work out the minimum budgets for households with working-age adults and children. We are now looking for single or partnered parents with at least one child aged 25 or below to participate in the focus groups online.
