Overall Job Objectives

The Waitstaff is responsible for contributing to a healthy, happy, communicative and efficient front-of-house team through execution. He manages the actions instructed by the Restaurant Supervisor and Restaurant Manager and supports and champions the decisions of all the above.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Delivers food and drinks to customers

• Familiarises himself with menu items such that he can spot and correct mistakes or missing elements before they are served to guests

• Ensures that the tables are set with ample cutlery and plates, and that these are promptly replenished throughout a meal service

• Clears and cleans of tables

• Fills and refills water bottles

• Checks and refills all table condiments (salt, pepper, sugar, etc.)

• Maintains and updates menus

• Packs door gifts

• Maintains cleanliness of all FOH work areas before, during and after meal services

• Interacts with customers for the purposes of reservations, order taking, responding to general enquiries, taking feedback, etc.

• Reports anything peculiar to the Restaurant Manager

• Maintenance of all FOH ware (serving ware, cutlery, glassware, furniture, soft furnishings, etc.)

• Prevents abuse of operating equipment and other company services

• Attends meetings as required and called for

• Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management


• Able to speak and write English fluently

• Fair, mild temperament, team-player and respectful

• Organised and able to take directions

• Maintains a clean, functional and presentable front-of-house
