Overview of role purpose:
Warehouse functions and activities
Warehouse Process Improvement and Inventory Management
Lead warehouse team on Health & Safety
Warehouse location & design
Allocate/delegate Key Accountabilities/Tasks (as detailed below) to the Team and ensure/monitor performance.
Continuous improvement in warehouse operations: ensure security and efficiency of storage areas, timely and accurate delivery to internal and external customers.
Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient usage of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials.
General management of the warehouse, both internal and external.
Maintains records of inventories and location, ensure FIFO practice is in placed
Responsible for enforcing organization policies of conduct and safety and initiates disciplinary action.
Identifies the causes of product losses and takes corrective action.
Ensure day-to-day activities are according to plan and schedule.
Ensure proper maintenance of warehouse records and traceability.
Optimization of manpower including management and participation in planning works.
Investigate and respond to customer complaints relating to warehouse operations with effective implementation of CAPA.
Timely and accurate recording of inventory (RM/WIP/FG) movements; manage stock counts, cycle counts; highlight and investigate any discrepancies found.
Improve 5S in warehouse
Maximise the warehouse storage
Minimise external warehouse spend
Monitor slow moving stock with finance through weekly external/internal warehouse analysis
Attend to internal and external audits.
Ensure Warehouse Team members are properly trained and coached to execute their jobs according to acceptable level of performance.
Provide effective feedback on performance to team regularly, perform performance appraisal of team periodically but not longer than once every six months.
Counselling/ disciplinary actions for employees with discipline issues.
Conduct regular SLT and Toolbox meeting
Update Work Instruction for Traffic Management including loading and unloading
Daily equipment checking and annual review on racking condition
Continuous plan for warehouse improvement
Any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in warehouse management
Experience leading a team/ project management experience
Good negotiation skills
Good communication skills
Working knowledge of company information and data systems used by Procurement
Experience in the selection of suppliers – inquiry and negotiation
Proficiency in MS Office.
